Policies for LAPD
In this handbook you will learn the ways of the LAPD and how all divisions work.
The Los Angeles Police Department is a department with high standard. We ensure our officers are trained well, to tackle tough situations. We regularly do traffic stops, up to organized raids on gang territory and more.To ensure the general public is safe.
Roleplay Rules
The LAPD has a high standard and must follow all Server rules and RP rules.
Always RP crashes, minor ones or not, even RP regaining consciousness.
Do Not MG, PG or anything else.
RP things even if the suspects you RP with are non roleplay like. These UnRP players will be dealt with by the Administration team.
Always Rp being a professional, even when someone is calling you names all the way.
Failure to comply with the rules/policies/procedures will result in possible suspension or termination of all police duties.
Code Of Conduct
The LAPD must follow all codes of Conduct, failure to do so can result in penalties.
All officers should dress in their uniform when checking in, to begin shift.
Officers should resort to deadly force in cases where the life of himself or another is threatened.
Tasers should be used when handling non cooperative individuals.
All officers are to follow traffic laws, but are exempt from having to wear a seatbelt on duty.
Off duty officers are permitted to use a pair of Off Duty Department issued handcuffs if it is needed, but are to notify the police right away.
Off Duty officers are not to wear uniforms, no exceptions made.
All officers have to be of a high standard, no messing around. don’t act like an idiot. Always act professional.
All vehicles are meant for LAPD use only. other use, or private use(like using a cruiser to drive to your house and log off) will be penalised

LAPD Officer Ranks
The LAPD has its own rank system and enforces everyone to follow to command of its higher officials. Failure to do so can result in big Penalties.
Cadet: Cadet’s are to be trained by JTA officers, after they have done the basic training they may drive and operate themselves WITH a higher official(preferable JTA).
Officer: LAPD Officers are allowed to go by themselves, they have finished their training and are expected to act professional.
Senior Officer: Senior officers are qualified to specialize in a division, they are part of our Senior forces and are allowed to use more heavy weaponry with special permissions. We expect even more professionalism from all Senior officers.
Sergeant: Sergeants are the Officials who make sure everything is alright on the field. Anything that goes wrong, reports go to them, and they report to their higher officials.
Lieutenant: Lieutenants are supervisors. They are to make sure that all officers stay in their position/division and take care of bigger situation within their supervising area.
Captain: Captain’s make sure that everything runs smoothly, they assist the higher ups as much as they can and make sure that the other officials, lower than they are, are doing what they have to do. If Big situations occur where the Lieutenants can’t handle it the Captain has to step in. The Captain is in close touch with the higher ranks and they have authority to suspend people until further notice from the Chief.
Commander: Commanders are the lead in the Fieldwork. They make sure that the entire City runs smoothly and without trouble. They are the right hand of the Chief’s.
Commanders have to Authority to suspend, demote and promote people. Based upon the Chief’s judgement those decisions/punishments will follow through or be either disregarded or lowered.
Assistant Chief: He is the rank underneath of Deputy Chief, he has no other job then Deputy chief but the difference is that a Deputy Chief get's more priority over the assistant chief and all of the rest is same,

Deputy Chief: Deputy Chief’s Are the right hand of the Chief, their word is to be followed no matter what. They handle a lot of Internal things like paperwork, promotion, demotions, etc. They can Suspend, demote, promote, and fire people. The Chief has to be informed by them.
Chief: The Chief is the leader of the LAPD, his word is the law. He takes care of every single thing that has anything to do with the LAPD. His words and rules are to be followed.

Identifications
Your badge and identifying letter is used for your callsign. This is used in /tac1 /tac2 /r /d and /statch when identifying your unit. Example. You are assigned central. You are under Sgt rank, and your badge is 112. S-112 10-8 In service.
/Statch is used to change your status, ie. 10-8 10-7, 10-98 , etc.
/r is used for basic radio communication between the LAPD, in here you also put your traffic calls.
/d Is used to get the assistance of different factions, to get an ambulance, tow truck, SD,CHP,etc.
/tac1 is used for private chats with SD, CHP, or DoC. if it is not important enough for it to be kept secret, use /d.
/tac2 is used for tactical operations, the primary channel is tac2, if more channels are needed we can take priority on tac1.
Division’s being used
The city is divided in 5 different divisions, each divisions has to be patrolled. Therefore a Division Sheet has been made for this use. DC’s will be able to Edit the roster.
Everyone needs to make sure to inform the DC of going 10-8, 10-7, Code 6, Code 7, etc.
So the sheet can constantly be kept up to date.
Equipment
These are all the LAPD equipments, these are basic weapons and special weapons.
Special weapons need special permissions.
Desert Eagle: The basic service pistol of the police department.
Baton: Our beating stick.
Mace(Spray can): Pepper Spray, meant to subdue.
12g Shotgun: This is the standard issue shotgun found in all patrol cars.
Taser: This is used to send an electric jolt to whom it hits, subduing them for some time.
SPAS-12: Weapon to be used with the SWAT Division or special authorization by the Commander or above.
MP5: Weapon used by the SRU or special authorization by a Captain or above.
M4: Weapon used by the SRU, or authorization by a commander or above.
Tear Gas: Used by all command units or SRU. Command units are C units.

The LAPD, LASD all use a charge sheet to give prices and times to criminals.

Ways of handling Situations
The LAPD must handle certain situations in special ways.
Pursuits: All pursuits MUST be called out on Ts, Air Priority is given to them doing the callouts. /20 is only meant to give some extra help! It does not replace the callouts!
Robberies: All robberies must be handled in a tactical procedure, as some results may end in pursuits, it is best to have one unit(if enough avail) have in or near a car.
Hostage situations: When a hostage situation occurs, All higher and SWAT units take the lead. This scene must end in a positive way without the hostage dieing.
Divisions
All the divisions within the LAPD are to apply for, Each division has its own special operations and its own Handbook. Click on the Division name to open the new file:
General Duties: This is the Division has the most officers. The division speaks for itself. Patrol, heading to calls and so forth. General Duties is the foundation of the department, the core.An officer from this division can prove and make their way on to another division.
Traffic: Traffic warrants specific officers to be able to use specially designated patrol units, possibly in the case of a high speed chase. They respond to fire calls and traffic accidents. Especially if it is an officer involved MVA. (Bike Cop skin for bikers, The set skin for Traffic.)
SWAT: The Special Weapons and Tactics is the city's SWAT team. Designed to handle high risk situations, hostage negotiations, bank robberies and more.These specially trained officers have an array of equipment used to suppress the situation.(SWAT Skin)
CIB: This division is set to investigate crimes that occur. Set up and lead raids, gather intelligence, and work UC operations.This department greatly helps the LAPD lower crimes in certain areas or even city wide. (Any suited ped skin for the desk duty or for meetings. CIB Uniform for Operations/Raids. Undercover skins for UC work, only with permissions)
JTA: The Joint training Academy is where all the recruits get trained and get teached everything they need to know. JTA Officers have two different tasks; Field training and training in the academy area. JTA
Duty Commander
Duty Commanders are the highest ranking units, always 1 is in charge.
The Duty Commander makes sure everything goes according to the rules, that divisions are ran correctly, and that no one joins pursuits without permission. If there are multiple officers of the same rank and the DC has to leave, the DC will decide who is in charge.
The others are left as the New DC’s Supervisors/assistants.
Vehicles
Vehicles have their own weapon system, each weapon contains certain weapons. those weapons are to be Rped with. for any other weapon, consult the on duty Highest ranking officer or Duty Commander.
CopCarLA: Used by any and all units, the basic car in the fleet of the LAPD.
Comes with one racked Remington 870 12g Shotgun.
Sgt- An extra racked shotgun in the trunk
Lt- Racked shotgun in the back or rifle, decide before leaving the station.
Cpt- Racked shotgun, or rifle, along with one spare vest and teargas.
Commander- Racked SPAS-12 or MP5. Teargas, and a spare vest.
Police Rancher: The Police Rancher is a primarily a Supervisors Vehicle unit. Must be given the permission to use the vehicle by the Duty Commander who is of the rank Captain or above(Lt’s can use it, permission needed if a higher is on)
This vehicle packs a Remington 12 Gauge shotgun in the gunrack.
Carries one kevlar Vest(NOT TO BE USED WHILE BEING SHOT AT, ONLY AFTER)
Either carries a Rifle or an MP5, driver must decide upon leaving the station and inform the DC about his decision..
FBI Rancher: This vehicle is to be driven only by Commanders or above, or those in the SWAT Division or CIB, given permission by the DC of rank Captain and above, as the unit is well equipped for high risk calls.
Vehicle contains 4 sets of kevlar vests, Tactical gear. One racked M4, Two racked MP5s, One SPAS-12, One Remington 870 shotgun, tear gas.
Premier: This vehicle is an unmarked car. The vehicle is used by Cpt. or above in rank, but primary use is for the CIB Division.
Vehicle contains one racked Remington 870 12g Shotgun, CSI Equipment.
Police Bikes: These vehicles are meant for the Traffic Division. It can be used with Commander authority.(this counts for all varieties of bikes)
Permission is needed from the DC to take it out.
Sultan: This is a Traffic Division special car. (Must be badged when driving)

Pursuit Intervention Unit: Traffic Division Only, or by permission of the Commander, only when in a high speed pursuit that warrants its use. Approval from DC needed.
Police Helicopter: This vehicle is used by PolAir certified units with permission from DC
Note that a Commander or above must approve the use of any weaponry not listed.
The situation warrants what can be used.
Vehicle Use
Each person gets their vehicle assigned to his badge number.
Each person has its primary vehicle(always a cruiser), certain units get assigned a secondary or thirtiary vehicle(Lt’s with a Ranger for instance. For this we use the Vehicle Sheet.
This has been implemented because a lot of players are abandoning and misusing Police vehicles. Let this be a warning that players will start to get penalised for misuse.
Certifications
There are a few certifications wich you can apply for and receive after having special training:
AirPilot: As an Airpilot you are certified to fly the helicopter and use it for situations where it is needed.
AirSpotter: As a spotter you are certified to go with a Pilot to spot someone from above in case a suspect is missing.
